I came across Sarah Siskind the other day when another artist that I love, Bon Iver, covered one of her songs, Lovin's for Fools. Enjoying the cover, I decided to investigate further, and came across a really fantastic musician.
Hailing from Nashville, TN, Siskind can best be described as acoustic/folk/country. She's got a strong voice and sings with a nice poise and grace, and reminds me a lot of Alison Krauss and Sara Wheeler. This doesn't come as too much of a surprise, where Krauss has helped her along and even helped with the recording process. Her first album was released in 2002, Covered, with a second EP released in 2006. She currently has an album due out in 2009, which is where these two tracks come from.
